We have dealt with the loss of 3 of our 4 parents plus one bachelor uncle that my husband was responsible for. A lot of lessons learned as we disposed of those estates. Our kids were vaguely aware of some of the nightmares we had to deal with throughout. We've been open and honest about all of it. The conversations will continue as things evolve. More people should have these hard conversations with their next of kin. Probably never a 100% "fair" way to divide everything, but as a parent you do the best you can.
